Giving

We give, not because God doesn’t have enough - He does - but because it’s good for us to give. In giving we develop His generosity within us. Having said that, of course, others also benefit when we give. One way that happens is when our generosity helps to resource our churches.

In giving we express thanks to God for His generosity, and we trust His provision for the future. So, giving is something we build into our financial thinking. In other words: ‘We give what’s right not what’s left!’ Followers of Jesus give to charities, to those in need, and to local churches.

Thank you so very much!

Thank you so very much to all of you who give to a church within our benefice. Our giving helps our churches to stay open and enables wonderful activities to take place within them. Thank you.

Our local giving is important in enabling us to pay our bills. Nonetheless, meeting our financial targets is not the most important issue. I pray that our giving will reflect a holy response to God’s call rather than simply calculated concerns about bills. It's important that we honour God with our giving. When we give together in the way that God calls us to, practical needs will be covered. God is not limited by human resources but He does invite us to partner with Him in order to bring about His life and growth.

If you’re able to give by regular electronic bank transfer, that’s an immense help. The more of us who give in that way, the more our PCCs are able to budget in advance. Similarly, if tax payers complete the relevant Gift Aid information, we can maximise the support we receive in that way through the government.

Thank you so very much to all of you who give to a church within our benefice. Gifts, both small and large, make such a difference. Thank you.
